Intelligent Model Based Imbalance Fault Detection and Identification System of a Turbocharger Based on Vibration Analysis

Inappropriate fault detection of turbocharger’s operating parameters has generated unnecessary economic loss due to unplanned down-time. This results a combination late and inaccurate diagnosis the turbocharger faults by employed maintenance systems. study, used Model-based approach identify imbalance in rotor system. In this approach, generalized theoretical equation motion for both healthy faulty system models complete rotor, were developed using Finite element method. A test rig with sensors monitor its dynamic behavior under influence aforementioned condition was also developed. Following Modal Expansion, curve fitting technique minimize error between set equivalent experimental numerical results. From results, Frequency response functions from Element Method had good agreement Time frequency-based responses measured data induced condition, hence, validating study. Using Expansion technique, nodal residual forces model compared corresponding data. The showed findings. Hence, Model based identification scheme implemented study successfully identified magnitude, severity exact location conditions.
